Nestled in the heart of Albi, the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum offers visitors a unique journey into the life and work of one of France’s most celebrated artists. Housed in the imposing Palais de la Berbie, a historic medieval palace overlooking the Tarn River, the museum combines artistic brilliance with architectural grandeur. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, born in Albi in 1864, is known for his vibrant depictions of Parisian nightlife, cabarets, and the bohemian world of Montmartre. The museum holds the largest collection of his works in the world, including paintings, posters, and personal sketches that reveal both his artistic genius and his intimate view of society in the late 19th century.
Schedules and Prices
The Toulouse-Lautrec Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, from October 1 to May 31, and is closed on Mondays. From June 1 to September 30, it is open every day from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Visitors should note that galleries are cleared 15 minutes before closing, and the museum shop follows the same opening hours, accessible directly from the museum entrance. The museum is closed on January 1, May 1, November 1, and December 25, with special hours on December 24 and 31.
Admission to the permanent collection and the current temporary exhibition is €10 for adults. Tickets for the temporary exhibition only cost €6.
